The Signature Climb

Mount Toubkal — the roof of North Africa

Most travelers who come to the Atlas Mountains come for one reason: to stand on top of Toubkal at sunrise. Mohamed has guided this route more times than he can count, and knows exactly how to pace the climb, read the mountain's moods, and get you to the summit safely and unforgettably.

  • North Africa’s highest summit at 4,167 meters
  • Choose the fast 2-day ascent or a relaxed 3-day pace
  • Overnight at the Toubkal Refuge with mule-carried gear
  • Mohamed guides every group personally, start to finish

The Experience

It's never just about the summit

What travelers remember most is rarely the elevation gain — it\u2019s the villages, the food, the people, and the quiet moments in between.

Your Guide

Meet Mohamed Maachou

Born and raised in a village at the foot of Toubkal, Mohamed has spent more than twenty years guiding travelers through the mountains he grew up climbing. He speaks the language of these valleys — literally and otherwise — and treats every trek as a chance to share the place he loves, not just tick off a summit.

"I don't just want to take you to the top. I want you to understand why these mountains mean so much to me, and to the people who live here."

What it's like to trek with Mohamed

"Mohamed read our group perfectly — pushed us when we could handle it, slowed down when we needed it. We summited Toubkal in weather that turned two other groups back that same morning."

Laura & James

United Kingdom · Mount Toubkal 3-Day Trek

"This wasn’t a tourist hike, it was a real look into mountain life. We ate lunch in a family’s home, learned to make bread, and left feeling like we’d actually met Morocco, not just photographed it."

Sofia Alvarez

Spain · Berber Villages & Atlas Mountains Hike

"We had three kids under twelve and were nervous about the terrain. Mohamed adjusted the whole route around them without ever making it feel like a compromise. Best day of our trip."
