His Story
Raised at the foot of the mountain he now guides
Mohamed grew up in a small village in the Toubkal region, where the mountains weren't scenery — they were the paths to school, the source of water, and the backdrop of everyday life. Long before he ever guided a paying traveler, he knew these trails as well as he knew his own village streets.
In the early 2000s, he began working alongside established guides, learning the technical and safety knowledge required to lead trekkers professionally. Since becoming a licensed mountain guide, he has led travelers from dozens of countries to the summit of Toubkal and through the wider High Atlas range — building, over time, a reputation for genuine care and unshakeable route knowledge.
Today, Mohamed runs Morocco Mountain Guiding Company as a personal practice, not a large agency. He still guides every trek himself, believing that's the only way to deliver an experience worth traveling for.
